Thank you for your information.

I have downloaded SequeLink server 5.4 already. But
it does not include ODBC driver "DataDirect 32-BIT
SequeLink 5.4". I also went to http://www.datadirect.com
to download ODBC driver 5.0. I still can't get ODBC
driver "DataDirect 32-BIT SequeLink 5.4". I appreciate
any suggestion.

Vince,

I am not sure witch Data Direct product you are looking for.

You have the right to download SequeLink Server and use it with Stylus Studio for free.
The purpose is to be able to connect Stylus to an ODBC data source.

Stylus Studio [embedded Sequelink Client] -> SequeLink Server -> ODBC data source.

No ODBC drivers are boundled with Stylus, but you can get an evaluation from the Data Direct Web Site

Hi Evan,
I am using Stylus Studio to access pervasive database. I am not
sure if I need to download odbc client or not.

I use SequeLink Server and Stylus Studio( embedded SequeLink client).
Then I run SequeLink client. I got the following attached message.

When I followed the instruction you pointed out. I get stucked
in one point. Do I need to download ODBC or JDBC driver if I
want to access to Pervasive database? How do I get rid of

Hi Ivan,
I downloaded Data Direct ODBC 5.0 already. The data source
connection is successful. However I got the message when I
try to use SequeLink client(Stylus Studio) to connect to
sequeLink server 5.4. It tells me "Data Source Name Not Found
and no default driver specified". Could you give me advise?

I looked at SequeLink Installation Guide. I found that the only
difference between me and installation guide is the ODBC driver.
I use ODBC driver "dataDirect 5.0 Btrieve". The installation guide use ODBC
driver "DataDirect 32-BIT SequeLink 5.4".

How do I get rid of the error mesage? Do you have any suggestion?

Did you create the ODBC data source as *System* data source?

Control Panel ->
Data Sources(ODBC) ->
System DSN


Did you configure SequeLink Server (see the attached image) ?

Vincent,

I downloaded the Pervasive SQL 8.5 Workgroup Engine as you can see from the attached picture I was able to connect to the sample database (DEMODATA), fetch the schema and perform a query using the Pervasive ODBC Driver.
The error message you got seems complain about the database directory, are you sure you data source is configured correctly?

Hi Ivan,
Thank you for your testing.

By changing my ODBC driver from DataDirect ODBC 5.0 to
Pervasive ODBC engine interface ODBC driver, now I have
aleady loaded the whole schema successfully. However, Now
I can't do a query from the database. Attached is
the error message to do a query from the btrieve database.
Could you give me your advise? Thank you.

Your SQL query is wrong.

change it to
