David ReesSubject: can't open write handled files
Author: David Rees

Trying open a file that is already open in another tool results in a "sharing violation". This seems to imply that studio always opens file for write (even if I just want to view it).

I would suggest that in the case of not being able to open a file for write, SS should give the option of opening it read-only.

thanks,

dave

Are you sure that the other tool is not locking any kind of access to the
file? I have never had problems opening a file already open in another tool
with Stylus; and I can open resources which are read-only or available on
network shares with only read-only permissions.
