Adriaan VanderendeSubject: namespace problem with XML to XMLmapping
Author: Adriaan Vanderende
Date: 11 Nov 2002 03:44 AM
HI Carlo,

About the problem : when mapping to a XSD in which a TargetNameSpace has been defined mapping lines disappear.

Is this problem not solved?

We have a XSD with targetnamespace defined, which causes the problem of disappering mapping lines.

I though the problem was solved.
It is an old problem, reported in januari 2002 already.

Hi,

It seems that build 100f does not remove the mapping lines. (however does have strange mapping behaviours). Build 103 has the disappearing lines problem.

hi, Adriaan

we searched our bug database and the discussion forum but couldn't find the
one you mentioned. have you reported this problem before. XSD with
targetnamespace is very commonly used and shouldn't cause mapping problem.

Can you send us your xsd + xsl file and we'll look into it.

thanks

song.

I have attached all xsd's sample xml etc

When you display the mapping panel some mappinglines disappear. Look for Name1 field in input xsd.

Hi, Adriaan

I'm working on this issue to provide an easy way for you to change the
prefix as you want. should be done very quickly. I'll keep you informed.

thanks

song.

Hi, Adriaan

thanks for your test case, we can see the problem you described. There is
one thing that I can't fully understand.
in the source xsl file, you have a select="CHILDREN/E1EDK01/FIELDS">, under this for-each, there are a couple
of other for-each which has the select path as
"CHILDREN/E1EDKA1/FIELDS/....". this is clearly a wrong relative path given
the context in parent for-each. this kind of invalid xpath is not likely
created by mapper.

I'm wondering if you have ever modified the xsl file after it is generated
by mapper?

thanks

song.

No, there has been no manual editing in this xsl file.

Maybe some field to field mapping has been done and afterwards segment mappings have been done.

But no manual mapping!!!

Hi, Adriaan

thanks for the test case you gave, we did find a bug which we believe could
cause potential problem like what you have seen. that fix has been avaliable
in our latest build which became public yesterday.

Please note the fix will make sure it generate right xpath expression for
new links added. but the existing stylesheet with problem, you need to
manually modify it to correct wrong xpath so that mapper can understand and
render it as links. let me know if you need help to do that.'
