Cristina ViscontinoSubject: Xalan processor exception
Author: Cristina Viscontino
Date: 16 Oct 2002 12:22 PM
Using Xalan-J processor, we have this exception:

javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: Extra illegal tokens: ':', 'Model', '/', '//org.omg/UML/1.3', ':', 'Namespace.ownedElement', '/', '//org.omg/UML/1.3', ':', 'Class', '/', '@', 'name'

any suggestions?

Thanks

The processor is reporting an error in the stylesheet; but without seeing
the stylesheet source it's tough to say what the problem is; can you post
the stylesheet you are using or sending it to me via email?

Thanks,
Minollo

Cristina,
thanks for the testcase.

It looks like XalanJ doesn't like the //org.omg/UML/1.3 format for the URI
associated to the UML namespace prefix. I would guess this is a bug or
limitation of XalanJ; you may want to double check on the Apache web site
(http://xml.apache.org/xalan-j/index.html).

You can workaround the issue changing the namespace declaration in the XSLT
and XML files into something like:
xmlns:UML="http://org.omg/UML/1.3"

Buona fortuna,
Minollo
