Michael HincheySubject: XML Mapper: auto-gen of required elements
Author: Michael Hinchey
Date: 03 Sep 2002 11:41 PM
I'm experiencing a problem in one installation of Studio 4.0 build 088 on Win2k. I don't have this problem with other installations of the same version on different machines nor with build 100e. I’ve tried reinstalling in case the user did something different, but that did not change the behavior.

The Mapper inserts all required elements into the XSLT when I map a single one. It's as if it is trying to create XSLT which will generate valid XML. In the attached files, simply mapping aaa to aaa causes the attached XSLT to be created. Is there some setting which causes this?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes.

Tools|Options|Module Settings - XSLT Editor - Mapper

There is a single checkbox "Create an empty element for each unlinked node
that is required by the associated schema"; that checkbox is un-checked by
default; I guess that got somehow checked on the machine where you are
seeing the described behavior.

Hope this helps,
Minollo

Hi there

This is exactly what I would like to happen in my case. I have checked the box but my Stylus does not create the elements required.

It shows them in the mapper view with a red tick, but it does not create them in the source code.

I am using Build 735d.

Is there any way to switch on this behaviour?

Best Regards,
Oliver Rennert
