Howard UngarSubject: external function not found when it's in a package
Author: Howard Ungar

When I use the internal processor to transform using a java extension function, I get an error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: formatJulDate.

However, if I eliminate the package declaration at the top of the java file it works fine. Note that I am putting the java .class file into the subdirectory of the classpath which corresponds to the package name.

Howard,
The problem is not in the classname but in the method signature as the
error is pointing out (java.lang.NoSuchMethodError). Check the stylus
documentation for java extension constraint

It turns out that the classpath was the culprit. I was picking up a version of the extension function which doesn't match the recommended signature.

Thanks,
Howard
