Al NormanSubject: Struzzo log for SS 3.1 build 069e
Author: Al Norman
Date: 04 Apr 2002 09:33 AM
Have had several core dumps -- mostly after extensive work. Happened again today, but all I did was close one project, open another, select an xsl file, set up a scenario and preview it. When I did a 'close all windows' I was prompted to save the three files: prj, xml and xsl. I only wanted to save the prj and xml files, so de-selected the .xsl file. During the close operation, SS aborted.

We have noticed this kind crashes in a few stochastic cases, but we have
never been able to pin-point the exact cause; we believe it is related to
the way some internal structures are being reference counted, and how
closing/saving other documents affects that; for that reason we have
changed the structure of the suspicious code in 4.0.

We haven't been able to see the same kind of issues working with 4.0; it
would really help if you could try it; if that works for you too, we may
investigate a back-port to 3.1.
You can find 4.0 beta on: http://www.stylusstudio.com/beta

Thanks for your help,
Minollo
