Val IliescuSubject: xsl:variable and 'expr' attribute
Author: Val Iliescu

 The 'expr' attribute seems not to be part
of the w3C1.1 Standard ...
for xsl:variable it only accepts name and select....
Further more if
{xsl:variable name='foo'expr='{$fooString}'/}
does work... it has no equivalent using only 'select' (?)

The 'expr' attribute is an extension introduced by eXcelon Portal Server
and supported by Stylus Studio; you are correct, it's not part of the W3C
standard.

Unfortunately there is no equivalent using the 'select' attribute; that's
the reason why this extension has been introduced in the first place.
