Roger ShuttleworthSubject: Tree View questions
Author: Roger Shuttleworth
Date: 26 Jan 2005 09:45 AM
Hello

Sorry if these questions have been asked before. In the XML Editor:

1. Is it possible to view the Tree and the Text views simultaneously?
2. Is there an Insert Before or Insert After function, or do I have to find the parent?
3. With complex element groups, e.g. CALS tables, is it possible to insert the whole group at once?

Thanks.

Hi Roger,

what you would accommplish having them on the same window?

The insert operation always appends the element as last child
or creates a child if there is none.

After the node is created you can move it up and down on the same level
(context menu) or drag&drop it in any position.

To move the seletion to the parent node you just need to press the
left arrow key

If the XML document references a schema (DTD or XSD) the tree will
suggest a list of elements upon insertion.

Hope this helps
Ivan

Good question. It is what I am used to. I have a dual monitor setup,
and it would be useful to be able to see both together, for
quicker navigation. Since dual monitors are used increasingly these days,
giving the user this option (with other tabs too) would be nice.

Thanks for your answers to my other questions. Sorry I seem to have
posted this message to the wrong forum.

Roger
