Francisco MonteiroSubject: Schema documentation

How does one create a documentation if you have imported schema, the help talks of having a
linkfile. An example schema is this
<schema targetNamespace="http://www.xbrlgl.com/gl-plt/" xmlns:gl-plt="http://www.xbrlgl.com/gl-plt/" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:xbrli="http://www.xbrl.org/2001/instance" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xmlns:link="http://www.xbrl.org/2001/XLink/xbrllinkbase" xmlns:gl-cor="http://www.xbrl.org/taxonomy/int/gl/cor/2003-08-29/" xmlns:gl-bus="http://www.xbrl.org/taxonomy/int/gl/bus/2003-08-29/" xmlns:gl-usk="http://www.xbrl.org/taxonomy/int/gl/usk/2003-08-29/" xmlns:gl-muc="http://www.xbrl.org/taxonomy/int/gl/muc/2003-08-29/" elementFormDefault="qualified">
<annotation>
<appinfo>
<link:linkbaseRef xlink:type="simple" xlink:arcrole="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink/properties/linkbase" xlink:actuate="onRequest" xlink:role="http://www.xbrl.org/linkprops/linkRef/definition" xlink:href="XBRLGL-definition.xml">Links for definition relatonship</link:linkbaseRef>
</appinfo>
</annotation>
<import namespace="http://www.xbrl.org/2001/instance" schemaLocation="xbrl-instance.xsd"/>
<import namespace="http://www.xbrl.org/taxonomy/int/gl/cor/2003-08-29/" schemaLocation="gl-cor-2003-08-29.xsd"/>
<import namespace="http://www.xbrl.org/taxonomy/int/gl/bus/2003-08-29/" schemaLocation="gl-bus-2003-08-29.xsd"/>
<import namespace="http://www.xbrl.org/taxonomy/int/gl/usk/2003-08-29/" schemaLocation="gl-usk-2003-08-29.xsd"/>
<import namespace="http://www.xbrl.org/taxonomy/int/gl/muc/2003-08-29/" schemaLocation="gl-muc-2003-08-29.xsd"/>
</schema>

All the imported schema lie on the same directory. Can anybody share some light on doing this?

Francisco

The schema documentation tab should automatilly hyperlink to
imports/includes; to generate documetantion for included/imported schema
just click the hyperlink.

Hope this helps

Well I did as you suggested but there is no link created. In the help you mention if you want import or included schemas then you must supply a link file.
How does the link file look like?

I have attached the file created by the xsd document.

Regards
Francisco

This message describe how to use the linksfile
http://www.stylusstudio.com/SSDN/default.asp?action=9&read=2530&fid=23#7084

Before doing that could you check in the XSD documentation options
(the second button in the toolbar) if searchIncludedSchemas and
searchImportedSchemas are set to true?

Thank You
