Clinton GallagherSubject: What Role Does Java Play With StylusStudio?

Response.Write("Hello World")
I'm evaluating IDEs and just installed Stylus Studio. I observed that
Stylus Studio uses Java somehow and would like to know if it is
beneficial to install a JRE and what doing so may do when using
Stylus Studio.

I looked for requirements and tried looking for clues throughout
documentation but I haven't found anything yet which is probably
staring me right in the face.

I'm also interested in commentary regarding the value of using
Stylus Studio with the .NET Framework, my preferred language
being C#.

Hi Clinton,

Some of the Stylus Studio modules/features require Sun JRE to run:

- DB to XML Data Source [5.x]
- Convert to XML [6.x]
- Berkeley DB XML [6.x]

In term of suppoting the .NET framework, Stylus Studio is able to perform
XSLT debugging/profiling/back-mapping using System.Xml.XslTransform.
The XML editor let you validate xml document using the framework.

Hope this helps
Ivan
