0 00 00 00 041 A A Introduction In this document the bicycle and its control system will be described to facilitiate its operation. Controls The following controls are described:Steering Shifters Braking Pedals Steering The handlebars are used to steer the bike. They are located at the front of the bicycle. Steering is achieved by placing one hand on each handlebar grip and moving hands appropriately. Shifters The ratio of pedal rotation to wheel rotation is controlled by the gears. Shifter Location Affected Gears Left The buttons on the left shifter changes gears on the front derailleur. Right The buttons on the right shifter changes gears on the rear derailleur.
Braking Activating the front brake without activating the rear brake can cause a crash. The speed of the bike can be reduced by using brakes. The brakes are activated by using the brake levers located on the handlebar. The two brake levers are described as follows. Brake Lever Location Affected Gears Left This lever operates the front brake (link:brakes). Right This lever operates the rear brake (link:brakes).
Pedals Pedals are located at the bottom of the seat tube. Moving the pedals provides the means of propelling the bicycle.
