Hello,

I am trying to install Stylus Studio 15, R1 and R2. Neither of them will install on my Windows 8.1 x64 system. I am installing as administrator as well.

Here is the error I receive:

InstallShield (R) Setup Engine has stopped working.
An Error occurred while launching the setup.
The remote procedure call failed.

In event viewer, it appears to be an Ikernel.exe error.

Any suggestions?

Hi Singh,

8.1 x64 is supported. Could you verify that the RPC Windows service is running?

Yes, RPC service is Running while doing the installation as an administrator.

This is odd. Here few things you may try:

Verify that your TEMP environment variable points to a location with have enough disk space.

Restart the machine in case there is pending installer that needs to complete.

Re-download the package is case the installed was corrupted.
