trying to use an AVT for an element name throws exceptions with Saxon 9.4.0.4 bundeled with Stylus Studio X14 R2 Enterprise.

Something like:

With Saxon 9.3 bundeled with X14 this worked perfectly well.
itself says

"The latest version of Saxon is version 9.4, released on 9 December 2011. Version 9.3 remains available, and may be a safer option for the time being if you have no need for the new features offered by 9.4."

Can you solve this issue or make Saxon 9.3 available as an additional processor option in X14 R2?

Thanks for reporting this.

We are investigating but we do not believe that Saxon 9.4 is at fault.

If you generate the Java code and run the transformation outside Stylus Studio it should run fine.

We will report when we have found a solution.

If you need to run in the IDE please fallback to X14.

Hi Ivan,

you are right. Running the snippet from the commandline (Saxon licensable features disabled) works without errors:

java -cp c:\progs\StylusX14\bin\saxonsa.jar net.sf.saxon.Transform -s:in.xml -xsl:test.xsl -o:out.xml

Maintenance release 1893a should fix the problem.

Hi Kurt,

Build 1893c ships Saxon 9.4.0.5 which provides a fix for the just-in-time XSLT compiler for this particular scenario.
