Just installed the latest build of the SS.
Stylus StudioŽ XML Enterprise Suite, Build BL1814e.

When I select in the menu Help/About Stylus Studio...
The error dialog box is showing up with the following:

---------------------------
Stylus Studio X14 XML Enterprise Suite
---------------------------
The JVM initialization failed with a fatal error:

FATAL ERROR in native method: JDWP No transports initialized, jvmtiError=AGENT_ERROR_TRANSPORT_INIT(197)

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Eventually, upon clicking the OK button the SS process is getting closed.

Regards,
Yitzhak

Hi Yitzhak,

It seems like a failure in the JVM initialization, do you happen to have multiple JVM versions in the system path?

Can you tell us which JRE and JDK are configured in Stylus Studio?
Tools->Options->Java Virtual Machine

What do you have in the JRE Parameters field?
If you set the field to a single space and restart the IDE, does the error go away?

Hope this helps

I doubt that the problem is specific to 1814e.

Have you tried to change the Parameters field value as suggested?

If that works it means that something else is interfering with the Java debugger, preventing the TCP-IP listener to start.

You could then run auto detect and change the port start address to 9000 instead of 8000.

Hope this helps
Ivan

I upgraded my machine Java up to Java Runtime Environment 1.7.0.4.
That solved the issue.

Thanks for generating ideas what could be wrong that was affecting my PC.

Regards,
Yitzhak
