Hello,
I am a beginner. Can anyone give me step by step instructions for converting a csv file into a xml file using an existing schema? I have attached the schema and csv file.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Kim,

Would you be able to produce a CSV file with the first row containing the column names?

I attached a screenshot that shows the a trivial mapping from CSV to XML, but without knowing the mapping semantic we could not complete the task

- File -> New -> XQuery File
- Switch to the Mapper tab
- Click Set Target and pick your schema
- Click Add Source and select your CSV file
- Click on "Opening using XML Converter"
- Pick Comma Separated Value (CSV)
- Draw links from left to right

Hope this helps

Thanks,
Kim

Ivan, I believe I did get all of the mapping done. However, now how do I export this into a XML file like the one attached here?

Click the button labeled "..." in the toolbar [Edit Scenario Properties].

When the Scenario dialog comes up, set the Output URL to the path where you want the file to be generated.

Now every time the query is executed, clicking the green triangle, the result is generated at the output URL.

Hope this helps
