Scott RentonSubject: Select Value-Of Qualified Element
Author: Scott Renton

Hi folks

I am trying to transform an XML file where the names are qualified, eg:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<dublin_core_list>
<dublin_core>
<dcvalue element="identifier" qualifier="other">1005</dcvalue>
<dcvalue element="title" qualifier="none">Violin.,</dcvalue>
<dcvalue element="identifier" qualifier="none">abc</dcvalue>
</dublin_core>
</dublin_core_list>

In XSLT, I am used to using <xsl:value-of select=" when mapping an unqualified element across to a new XML format, but how do I do this when the item is qualified as above?

Cheers
Scott

Scott,

you need a predicate like the following example

<xsl:value-of select="dcvalue[@element='identifier' and @qualifier='other']"/>

hope this helps
