Erik GroothofSubject: XSLT breakpoint being ignored when XSLT is on desktop
Author: Erik Groothof
Date: 20 Sep 2010 09:41 AM
Hi,

I was spending quite some time to figure out why the XSLT debugger was ignoring my breakpoints. The breakpoint for the provided sample videosDebug.xsl was working. The only difference was that my XSLT was stored on my PC desktop where the videosDebug.XSL is stored on my pc C drive.
I moved my XSL from my desktop to the pc C drive location and from there the breakpoint was taken into account. So it looks like running from de desktop is not supported ?

regards,

Erik

Hi Erik,

You should be able to set breakpoints and debug XSLT stored on the desktop. Check the Scenario Properties and make sure that you have the Saxon processor selected. It could be that you have an XSLT processor selected that does not support debugging.

What happens if you copy the videosDebug.xsl and the videos.xml to your desktop and try to set breakpoints and debug?

Regards,
Rory

In addition, be sure to either hit F5 or click the ladybug button to start a debug session.

Hope this helps
Ivan

Hi Rory,
I created a test directory on my desktop and placed the samples files in there and I checked the processor which is saxon 9.1.0.5.
The same problem happend with the videsoDebug.xsl It's ignoring the breakpoints.
Then I loaded the same videosDebug.xsl from the samples direcoty on the C drive and repeated the breakpoint setting and now it stops at the breakpoint.

kind regards,

Erik Groothof

Hi Erik,

I'm unable to duplicate this issue. I've tested on Windows 7 and on Windows XP Professional. What version of Windows are you running Stylus Studio on? Are you logged on as an Administrator? Are you able to test this on another machine?

Regards,
Rory

Hi Rory,
I checked with our ict department and we have all administrator rights. We use XP pro.
I have only 1 Stylus license so I can not install this also on someone else his pc but the ICT department also mentioned that we use Roaming profiles and redirected path for drives so maybe this has to do with it.
I have a workaround by not accessing the files from the desktop but from the C drive.

egards,

Erik
