Lynda KesslerSubject: XML to PDF using XML Publisher Report
Author: Lynda Kessler

Hello,

Iím a technical writer and new user of Stylus Studio and XML. Iím generating a report from a large XML file and the output format is XSL-FO PDF. The report is set up as a four-column table. I need to know if itís possible to do the following in Stylus Studio when the output is PDF:

ē Repeat table headings on each page
ē Add page numbers
ē Generate a table of contents

Also, Iím having trouble with the alignment of the items in the last two columns of my table. I need each item in column 3 to align with its corresponding item in column 4, even if the item in column 3 is single lined and the item in column 4 is multiple lined. Right now, columns 3 & 4 are set up as nested tables, but thatís not aligning them correctly.

Another issue Iím having is with the post-processors:

When RenderX is used, how can I remove automatically generated RenderX footer in the PDF?

When I use Apache-FOP, my column widths defined in the XSL file are not recognized, the PDF is generated with four equal-width columns, which I donít want, and Iím getting the following error:
[ERROR] Error in column-width property value '40%': org.apache.fop.fo.expr.PropertyException: No conversion defined

Iím also getting this warning:
[WARNING] table-layout=auto is not supported, using fixed!
I donít know if I should be concerned about it.

Thanks for your help,
Lynda
