Geoff TrimSubject: Stylus Studio crashes when source CSV file amended
Author: Geoff Trim

I have a CSV to XML converter, If I make a change to one of the rows in the CSV file and then refresh, Stlyus crashes repeatedly until the CSV file is returned to its original state.

Add detail to the row commencing "EDR 4156," in the source CSV file to simulate.

Thanks

Geoff

Tony LavinioSubject: Stylus Studio crashes when source CSV file amended

Well, surely Stylus Studio shouldn't crash.

There is another problem though with the definition. Custom XML
Converter regions are, according to their definition, FIXED in size.
So if a region has more data, the following regions will not move out.
That middle region will always stay the same size (either measured in
lines or characters, depending on how it was created). That means
more data will just run into the next regions.

This is a case where the Custom XML Converters isn't necessarily the
best suited.

Personally, I would have used XQuery with the simple CSV converter,
and handled the sections within XQuery (or XSLT would work just as
well). That way, you could count so many lines down from the top or
up from the bottom, or select some subset based on being between row
markers.
