O BarrettSubject: How do I move my Stylus Studio 2008 Enterprise Suite to another computer?

I currently have SS installed on a Vista machine, but am now moving to the Mac environment.

As I understand it, there is currently, unfortunately, no mac version of SS.

Therefore, how do I go about "moving" my license from Vista to a Windows VM inside the Mac?

Thanks in advance.

Please email us your activation key to stylus-field-report at progress dot com, and we'll take care of "cleaning up" its state.

Hello,

Can you explain what you mean by "cleaning up its state".

And, shouldn't I send the activation key to a stylusstudo.com address? I'm not sure who progress.com is (but this is the first time I've ever needed to move a copy of SS from one machine to another).

Thank you again in advance.

Stylus Studio is part of Progress Software (DataDirect division); that's the reason for the email address I mentioned. See the copyright notice in Help > about.

When you activate a license, your activation key becomes tied to the machine used to activate it; as you are planning to move the license to a different machine, the association between your activation key and your old computer needs to be broken; that's what I meant with "cleaning up its state".

Hope this help.

That sounds fine.

So, I'm assuming once I install SS on the Mac (in VM-Fusion in a Windows virtual machine), you'll send me a new key, right?

Thanks very much for your kind replies.

There is not need for a new key, we just need reset the the license state on our servers so you will be able to re-activate your copy.

Hope this helps
