I want to convert EDI into POJOs (java objects) and wonder if it is possible to use Style Studio to do this? I saw the exemple with the Custom XML Adapter (http://www.stylusstudio.com/custom_adapter.html) and would like to use something like that to have my own adapter generate Java objects instead of XML files. Any ideas, suggsestions?

The only way you can do that is either manually (processing the output stream from XML Converters) or using one of the several XML-Java binding solutions available out there (JAXB, JiBX, ...).

No; XML offers a great data model to represent EDI (and other data sources), and usually (but I'm sure your case is different) you don't want to create Java objects that map one to one to the EDI data. Typically you will manipulate the XML returned by XML Converters (XQuery is a perfect combination with XML Converters) and possibly create "business level" Java objects that capture the information you really need from the EDI.
