Is there a way in stylus studio to populate database table from an XML? I'm trying to compare the results of individual nodes in one XML to the result of a subset of the data populated in another table populated using a stored procedure. The main reason is to create an automated process which will compare the results of data generated using a big storedproc to individual ones generated using subset storedprocedures.

Example:
<cars>
<hybrid>
<model>
<modelbaseinfo>
<modelnumber></modelnumber>
<modelmpg></modelmpg>
<modelprice></modelprice>
...
</modelbaseinfo>
<modeldetails>
<trim></trim>
<transmission></tranmission>
....
</modeldetails>
....
</model>
</hybrid>
</cars>

In the above example, this xml is generated using stored procedure A. Then, subset storedprocedure will populate the database table with "modelbaseinfo" and another with "modeldetails" using same input.

Using the xml above, is there a way to directly populate "modelbaseinfo" db table using stylus studio?

Yes, using DataDirect XQuery:

for $info in //modelbaseinfo
return
ddtek:sql-insert("mytable",
"number", $info/modelnumber,
"mpg", $info/modelmpg,
"price", $info/modelprice)
