I found out that this problem depends on the parser.

<xsl:value-of select="text()"/> -> SAP XI Parser gives you:
i have 2 $

<xsl:value-of select="text()"/> -> Stylus Studio Build in Parser gives you:
i have 2

I also tried to add more text after the "dollar sign". The build in parser just ignores it. My guess would be that that's a parser bug or you at least have to change the way you implement your entities.
