David MinorSubject: Recent Windows Patch for MSXML 6.0 and 6.1 makes Stylus Studio Crash
Author: David Minor
Date: 27 Aug 2007 07:18 PM
I recently (Wednesday, August 15th, 2007) patched my Windows XP SP2 system with the Latest updates. After that every time I opened an XSD file with Stylus Studio 2007 XML Professional Suite Release 2, I get an information message box showing "(null) :0:0". The XSD file seem to work well after that. Then when I click on the Documentation tab, Stylus crashes.
I suspect the update in question is Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 and Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 1 (KB933579) (I also have Office 2003 installed, and there were several office updates as well.)

Hi David,
your analysis is correct, activating the Documentation tab will now crash Stylus. The next update of Stylus will contain a fix for this problem; in the meanwhile, if you need to view the documentation of an XMLSchema you can try reinstalling MSXML 4 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3144b72b-b4f2-46da-b4b6-c5d7485f2b42&displaylang=en

Hope this helps,
Alberto
