Subject:xsl:strip-space does not strip ! Author:Joe Robe Date:14 Aug 2007 04:11 PM
Hi,
I stumbled across xsl:strip and I though its a great solution to get right of that never ending annoying firefox bs with the white spaces (childnodes[0] in IE is correct in firefox its a \n)
Unfortunately it does not work for me :( I did put
<xsl:strip-space elements="*"/>
after the xsl:stylesheet declaration and the output in the browser is the same sh%&$t.
Am I doing something wrong here ? Since its in the xhtml namespace I doubt I should add a namespace as this is the default one !

Well, perhaps.
It would help if we could see your XSLT.
Most likely is that MSXML is not following the specification,
because by default it (against the standard) strips space from
the incoming XML.
So even though IE is acting the way you want and Firefox is not,
probably IE is working only because of that defect, and Firefox
is telling you like it should be.
