Andrea MartinezSubject: XSL URL Encoding
Author: Andrea Martinez
Date: 25 Jul 2007 04:00 PM
Hi,
I need to encode URLs in my XSL stylesheet.

For example, I need to convert: http://datafedwiki.wustl.edu/index.php/ABBI

to:
http://datafedwiki.wustl.edu/index.php/ABBI

In the past, since I haven't found a specific method or function to convert the characters into their entity numbers, I have been manually replacing them. I have had to double encode these character entities - as an example:

In order to have a ? appear as its entity number ?
I have had to encode it as ? in the stylesheet.

I know there has to be a better and easier way of doing this. Could someone please offer some assistance?

Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andrea,
depending on where you are placing the URL in the stylesheet, you could try using a CDATA section instead of literal text.

Hope this helps,
Alberto
