Hi,

how can I pass a .net extension object assembly, which resides in the GAC to the .net XslTransform/.net XslCompiledTransform processor in Stylus Studio mapper, so that the namespace mechanism to call it from inside an XSLT stylesheet works?

Programatically this would be done in .net by:

XsltArgumentList.AddExtensionObject("urn:assemblyname", obj);

Hi Kurt,

Currently Stylus Studio doesn't let you register user defined .NET extensions.

The only workaround I can suggest is to create script block and load your assembly using reflection, see attached example.

Hope this helps

Hi Ivan,

thanks for the reflection approach.

In the meantime I have found a commandline wrapper for .net XSLT (http://www.xmllab.net/Products/nxslt2/tabid/73/Default.aspx), which works well as custom processor in the Stylus Studio mapper.

Since the Stylus mappings are going to be used in BizTalk Server 2006 without further adjustments and we want to completely avoid msxsl:script this is our current option in the development environment.

This or something similar might make sense for .net invocation in a future Stylus Studio release. Alternatively it would be nice to be able to globally (not on project level) define more than one custom XSLT processor.

Does this mean the command line tool is used the XSLT Debug functions won't work ?

Hi Miguel

Your observation is correct, external processors do not offer debugging capabilities.

Ivan, are there any plans to include .Net xsl extensions support in a future update of Stylus Studio ?

Thanks
Miguel de Melo
