Dimple DhawanSubject: XSL & RDBXML : Retrieving most recent data for parameter field
Author: Dimple Dhawan

Hello,

I am trying to get data from the database using xml and rdbxml where a date is giving as a parameter, but I need the most recent data for that date.

For example: If data was inserted at 10am, then again at 1pm, I would want the most recent data which would be 1pm for the date given.

I have added the date parameter for the currentimestamp field in my xsl. Then in the rdbxml I have a query that selects the maximum time for the currentimestamp field. This gives me an incorrect result.

How would I achieve this - getting the most recent data for a particular date, where the date is given as a parameter ?

I am currently using :

XSL: (since there's no date or time function)
<contains(CURRENTTIMESTAMP, $selectDate) ">

RDBXML:
Select ... where TIME(a.currenttimestamp) = (select MAX(TIME(b.currenttimestamp)) from blah b

Thank you!

Dimple :)

Currenttimestamp looks like this: 2006-10-16-13.26.32.257001 and
$selectDate looks like this: 2006-10-16

Thanks!

The function "contains" should work just fine.

Could you please post your XSLT or send it to stylus-field-report@progress.com?
