I can no longer load Stylus Studio on my computer, I am running on a Windows XP Professional machine with 1gb ram. For a while the application appeared to load and then when I tried to open a file it just hung indefinitely, until it reported as not responding. Having unistalled the program completely and reinstalled, I got as far as the activation screen which accepted my key, and then subsequently just did nothing. I have since tried to open the application and shows the splash screen but nothing after that. I have an entry in my running processes for struzzo, which I believe is stylus studio, however nothing in the applications.
Please help I am unable to use this software at all, and now very frustrated, having had to go through the whole uninstall reinstall process to no avail.

What Stylus Studio version are you running? Assuming you are running Stylus Studio 2006 Professional Edition Release 3, to make sure you are starting from a clean state, can you try deleting this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Software\
Stylus Studio\
XML Professional Edition 2006 Release 3

I have attempted to follow your instructions, I have uninstalled Stylus studio completely, and ensured the registry key mentioned was deleted (Which it had been during the uninstall). I download the latest build as per your link.
I ran the program once installed, and exactly the same thing happens, I successully enter my activation code which is accepted. Then nothing the program never actually loads.

Does it prompt for your activation key also the next time you try running it? Does the account you are using have rights to to create a registry key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software?

One more thing: if you are running a firewall, make sure Stylus Studio can connect to our activation server using HTTPS; that's required the first time you activate the software to validate your license.

As per my original message the activation key is accepted, I get the message thanks for activating.... Then nothing happens. There is not a problem with the activation process. I had problems before attempting to reinstall whereby the program would lock completely when I tried to click the file -> open dialogue. I reinstalled to try and resolve these issues, and now it doesn't even get that far!
When I try to subsequently load the application, the splash screen displays but then I never see the application at all. The only evidence that the application is running is an entry for struzzo.exe in the processes view of task manager. This remains consuming 20mb of memory, which does not change over time.
- Run it and open bin\struzzo.exe in the Stylus Studio installation folder
- Do Profile > Start Profiling (accept defaults)
- Copy the content of the log window and email it to us (stylus-field-report@progress.com)
