Kurt MartinSubject: xsd sequence question

Not sure where to post XSD questions, so I am going to try it here...

Does anyone know of a way to force a sequence of elements by their attribute value? I have a series of <section> tags, each having a 'type' attribute. I know it can be done by element name (obviously), but I need to force the placement of each section tag in the document by attribute. Snippet:

*******************************
<section type="ms">
...
</section>
<section type="aa">
...
</section>
<section type="hdw">
...
</section>
<section type="sr">
...
</section>
*******************************

I need my schema to force the placement of each section tag to use the attribute values as shown above. In other words, I need to ensure that <section type="aa"> does not appear before <section type="hdw">, etc.

Kevin,
what version of Stylus Studio are you running? (Help > About)

As this discussion forum is for Stylus Studio users only, we tried validating your email address, but we can't find your registration in our activation server; can you email us at stylus-field-report@progress.com the activation key you are using?

Thanks.

Kevin,
unfortunately the kind of constraint you are looking for cannot be expressed in XML Schema. The only suggestion I can think of is to create an XQuery or XSLT to validate this kind of rule...

Hope this helps.

I was afraid of that.

Thanks.
