kenneth westelinckSubject: Compare Stylus Studio with OBOE
Author: kenneth westelinck

Hi all,

I am using Stylus as the preferred tool for creating my XSLTs. I have recently discovered that the enterprise version of Stylus includes transforming EDI to XML and vice versa. In the past I was using OBOE for this (http://www.americancoders.com/OpenBusinessObjects/index.html). This is a Java API capable of transforming EDI (X12 and Edifact) to XML and vice versa. I was wondering how Stylus compares to this. Looking at the samples, I can only perform an EDI 2 XML transform by using the command line. I guess if I want to use Stylus the same way as OBOE (i.e. use it as an API), I’ll need the deployment adapters (http://www.stylusstudio.com/deployment/faq.html). Is this correct?
Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Kenneth

Hi Kenneth,

The Stylus Studio Deployment Adapters are Java libraries that you can embed in your Java application.

Here some useful resources to learn more about the Adapters API

Video Tutorial

Adapters java-doc API

Hope this helps
