Neal WaltersSubject: Xpath Version - and Doc for Release 3
Author: Neal Walters
Date: 13 Jul 2006 06:30 PM
I went to Help Index to read-up on Xpath 1.0 vs 2.0.
Even though I have the new SS 2006 Release 3, the help screens show the old way of doing Xquery. I was trying to look up to see if I could choose between Xpath 1 vs 2, and what the differences are.

1) Is the doc out of date for everyone or did my install fail to update it somehow?

2) Are there any good web pages that describe the differences between Xpath 1.0 and 2.0?

Thanks,
Neal Walters

If you installed Release 3 in the same folder where Release 2 is installed, the documentation won't get updated; delete doc\ide.chm, and ask again for help; the updated installation should be downloaded and installed in the proper foder.

About XPath 1.0 vs. 2.0, the W3C web site is probably the best place where you may want to look:
http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath-functions/#xpath1-compatibility

(The same URL is useful to understand 2.0 details)
