Rainer ReitzSubject: CVS: Configuration of ZEUS for Windows
Author: Rainer Reitz

Hi,
I downloaded ZEUS from http://www.zeusedit.com/ and configured according to your guideline 'Using Stylus Studio with Zeus CVS'.
Couldn't get a connection to the CVS server yet, but put cvs.exe into system path and restarted my box.
I now tried Source Control / Add / Zeus and got the message 'SCC could not be initialized'.
How to go ahead?

Hi Rainer,
some customers have reported problems with the Zeus SCC plugin since it ships only inside the Zeus editor; you can try to use other plugins like ActiveCVS or Igloo (see http://www.stylusstudio.com/SSDN/default.asp?action=9&fid=23&read=2699)

Hope this helps,
Alberto

Hi Alberto,

I read this post already and found:

1. Igloo is outdated - only supports 16bit machines
2. Active CVS seems to be pre-beta with some major functions missing

My question is on how to proceed with Stylus. We need to have reliable CVS support on our Win clients.

Best Rgds.,
Rainer

Hi Rainer,
unfortunately it looks like all the efforts now go to SVN instead of CVS (Subway, TortoiseSVNSCC), so these open source projects lag behind.
You can try with a couple of (inexpensive) commercial projects like CVS SCC proxy (http://www.pushok.com/soft_cvs_proxy.php) or TamTam (http://www.daveswebsite.com/software/tamtam/); in the meanwhile we will try to see if we can restore the functionalities of Zeus.
