I assigned ctrl + up and ctrl + down to the functions move up and down and this didn't seem to work. Any ideas.

Also, is there a function to sort elements alphbetically?

Are you talking about the commands in XML Editor, Grid view? I could associate a couple of keys to my move up/down commands; can you describe the details of the steps you followed?

About sorting (if we talk abou the same editor), you can right click on a column and order according to it.

The move up and down works in the tree view but not in the diagram view of the schema editor. Couldn't find the sort function.

I can see what you are saying now; it's a limitation of the current build; we will try fixing it in the next maintenance update.
