How can I configure the Server URL to use the dedicated server we support? The Server URL I am using is the following: //dwhv8pdb-srv-node:2602;SID=dwhv8p Also after connecting to the database using URL Builder, how can I cleanly disconnect from database? Thanks. Mark

Is any error popping up?

The above doesn't parse :)
What do you mean by "unreliable multithreaded server"?

In the URL you can specify the server name, port number and database name. It is up to you choose to which server connect.

//dwhv8pdb-srv-node:2602;SID=dwhv8p

>The Server URL I am using is
>the following:
>//dwhv8pdb-srv-node:2602;SID=d
>whv8p

The connection life cycle terminate when you dismiss the dialog.

Another connection is open when fetching the query result and then closed.

Hope this helps

The error is: Oracle JDBC Driver - Software caused connection abort:socket write error

We looked in DataDirect JDBC documentation and used their option to connect to a dedicated server:
//dwhv8pdb-srv-node:2602;SID=dwhv8p;ServerType=dedicated

It did not help either.

Also when I click on Cancel button, although the dialog closes, the connection is still open (we checked from database site).

Mark,

Could you please post the entire stack-trace from the error dialog?

Stylus Studio uses "DataDirect Connect For SQL/XML" and the embedded Oracle JDBC driver doesn't support the property "ServerType".

The JDBC User Guide can be found at http://www.stylusstudio.com/doc/jdbcug.pdf

Later version of driver (3.4) added this functionality
http://knowledgebase.datadirect.com/kbase.nsf/ce24d9443437511f85256e57006bfe2a/515B0549A8956EC385256EE700579C46/$file/Changes%20from%2033%20to%2034.pdf

If the connection is failing with "socket error" seems wierd that you still see it open.

Thank You for your feedback

Connection looks like unstable: sometimes I can connect and see the tables, but when I select a table and click on Open button it gives me the error (in this case when I click on Cancel connection is still open)

Most of the time I can't connect to DB getting the following error:
The error:
[StylusStudio][Oracle JDBC Driver]Software caused connection abort: socket write error

The stack is:

java.sql.SQLException: [StylusStudio][Oracle JDBC Driver]Software caused connection abort: socket write error
