I'm building an xml doc in vb.net, and have an xsd. I'm adding nodes to the root elemnent like so:<br>
xmlNode = xmlDoc.CreateElement(ol_ItemProperty.Name)<br>
xmlText = xmlNode.AppendChild(xmlDoc.CreateTextNode(ol_ItemProperty.Value.ToString))<br>
xmlNode = xmlContacts.AppendChild(xmlNode)<br>
<br>
My question is this: should the CreateElement method validate and error out if I'm adding an element that is Not identified in the schema?
The reason I'd like to check the schema or have it automatically error is because I'm looping through a list of properties that can change over time, and my schema is what I want to build to, skipping anything not in the schema.

This is the Stylus Studio Developer Network, and we provide free
support here for our customers, prospects, and even some other
XML-related questions when we're in the mood (which is most of the
time.)
But VB questions are pretty far off. You might want to try a
Microsoft-specific forum.
