Dan SullivanSubject: builtin XQuery not recognizing attribute in namespace
Author: Dan Sullivan

The builtin XQuery processor does not seem to recognize attributes that are in a namespace. Given the following xml doc:

<w:wordDocument xmlns:w="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/word/2003/wordml">
<w:p>
<w:pPr>
<w:pStyle w:val="Body"/>
<w:pStyle val="Body2"/>
</w:pPr>
</w:p>
</w:wordDocument>

and the following XQuery program:

declare namespace w="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/word/2003/wordml";
for $i in (//w:pStyle[@w:val])
return $i

The builtin XQuery processor returns nothing.

The Saxon XQuery processor works as expected and returns :

<w:pStyle w:val="Body" xmlns:w="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/word/2003/wordml"/>

Is there some config that is required for the builtin XQuery processor? Is this a know bug?

Dan
