David ReesSubject: improperly added in cut/paste from Grid
Author: David Rees
Date: 26 Oct 2005 07:31 PM
Starting with my switch to 6.3 Pro a <table> element is improperly added when I copy from a grid and paste to a XML text document.

For example, starting with this sample document:
<a>
<b>
<c/>
</b>
</a>

If I go to the grid view, copy a/b, then paste into a text XML document I get:

<table><b>
<c/>
</b></table>

Thanks,

dave

Yes, we are adding <table> root in case you are copying table or multiple rows of the table. This was done to keep copied XML well-formed (to have a single root). We are considering to add an options
to tune this behavior in future releases.

Please do consider being able to turn this "feature" off. I use grid all the time specfically for this. When someone copy/cuts I think they would expect to get what they copied - nothing extra. They can always add the extra afterwards (IMHO).

Thanks,

d
