Need help to display hyperlink using xsl

Hello All,
I would really appreciate if someone could look at the following code:
<xsl:param name="hyperlink1"/>
Note: Parameter "hyperlink1" contains the value "
http://www.yahoo.com"
<xsl:variable name="hyplnkText">www.yahoo.com</xsl:variable>
<A>
<xsl:attribute name="href">
<xsl:value-of select="$hyplnk1"/>
</xsl:attribute>
<xsl:value-of select="$hyplnkText"/>
</A>
I am able to display the url with the above code. However, when I click on the link, the asp page reloads instead of going to the url.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Assuming you have a global parameter called hyperlink1, use the following code
<a href="{$hyperlink1}">
<xsl:value-of select="$hyperlink1"/>
</a>
