i just wonder while calling a user defined functions implemented using stylus studio xquery, where are they executed? inside the database address space or application address space

Hi Fatma,
user defined functions are execute in the address space of the processor running the query; so, the answer depends on which processor you are using.

What is the configuration you are using (DDXQ, SQL Server 2005, etc..)?
