Subject:XSLT pretends to run when cannot save Author:Neal Walters Date:25 May 2005 05:08 PM
I opened an XSLT that was under control of Visual Source Safe
(so the file had the read-only flag set).
I changed the XSLT and was trying to test, but not seeing any results.
I also tried setting breakpoints, and never saw any of them.
Looking back now, it is obvious that the file could not save,
thus it was running the old XSLT.
Seems like when you hit the "Preview Result" button,
it should warn you that the file could not be saved,
rather than running the old XSLT still on the disk.

Correct. With the built-in processor - it runs with the changes I made. With the .NET processor, it runs whatever is still on disk.
With the built-in processor - are you saving to a temp file and then running the tempfile? My XSLT had C# code in it, so I have to use the .NET processor.
