steven schwellSubject: Can ConvertToXML handle dynamic row types?

I have a flat file with different row types. Rows can come in any order with row type specified as first field in the row. Can ConvertToXML read a field and then parse the rest of the row according to its row type? How would you suggest converting such a file to XML?
tx,
s.

Hi Steven

Convert To XML allows to define regex match patterns for each row.
See in the online documentation

http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v62/d_flatfileconversion4.html#wp451044

Hope this helps

this chooses which rows will be included in the xml. is there a way to specify a field pattern for each row type and have them all included in the xml?

No, you use the regular expression pattern matching to not just filter
out rows, but to actually select rows. And you can have multiple
selection patterns, each of which yields a _different_ set of output
fields. See
