(Deleted User) Subject: Installation on NT4 SP5
Author: (Deleted User)

I have installed the Stylus OK but it fails on the Excelon LE . It can not find a file called MTXCV?.dll(where ? means I can't remember) When it reboots it fails to work as it can not find the iis which I do not have.

Any pointers?

Can you post exactly what you installed, to what directories, and in what order? Also, where did you get your installation(s) from--downloaded, eXcelon Stylus CDROM, etc? Thanks.

The following messages were what I got when loading both from download and from CD that came today.

File MTXCLU.dll not in path. (in fact it is not on my machine, what is it?)

When starting up I got
The module xlnpapi.dll cannot find a required dll
and
The module xlndapi.dll cannot find a required dll

Then when I got to install examples all but one said I needed SP4 on NT . I have SP5 as I could no longer see SP4 on the microsoft site and I presumed it would supercede SP4?

The file you're missing is installed by dtcsetup.exe, which is spawned by the eXcelon LE installer. Do a clean reboot, and then try running dtcsetup.exe directly. You should find it on the eXcelon Stylus cd.

What about the reliance on SP4?

I don't know of any reason why SP5 would not be sufficient. There are engineers here running SP5 and eXcelon without problems.

Please post if my previous suggestion does not solve your problem. MTXCLU.DLL is contained in dtcsetup.exe, so it should get installed.

Andy I have solved the MTXCLU.dll problem but when I try to install the examples it just tells me that SP4 is required. I do not have ISS and I wonder if this is the problem and the SP4 is a red herring?

To run the examples you need both sp4 and either IIS or Microsoft's Personal web server. You can download that with their NT options pack. It is not required if you just want to run eXcelon or Stylus.
