Karl KarlSubject: Installation Problem
Author: Karl Karl

Hi,
I was recommended by one of my friend about your product and I have downloaded
the same. Once i install it, i have procured the registration key and
registered the product.

But when i invoke the product through the shortcut, windows installer pops
up/splash pops up for a long time and nothing happens. The task
manager reports "Not responding".

Futher I'd also got this error message

"An error occured while launching the setup: The remote procedure call
failed".

Let me know how to solve this issue..

thanks.

cheers,
marx

This is consistent with a problem in MS Office installation configuration
that we have seen on a few machines:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;295823

Running the msicuu2.exe application will clean up bogus registry settings
created at some point by Windows Installer. It will not uninstall any
software that you have installed on your machine, but of course we would
encourage you to collect all the information you may need about this
utility before running it.

Hope this helps,
Minollo

The problem is entirely separate from Stylus Studio; it's actually
triggered by an Internet Explorer instance that Stylus tries to create at
start up.

The Microsoft utility won't disturb or damage your MS Office installation;
and no, you don't need to uninstall/reinstall the Stylus Studio package.

Thanks,
Minollo

I get this error when trying to install on Win10. I'm installing SSE15R2. Any suggestions as msicuu2.exe is no longer available. I've ran the MS Programs Install/Uninstall Troubleshooter and it doesn't detect any issues.

I'm getting the same error message as the OP.

"An error occurred while launching the setup. The remote procedure call
failed".
