Peta BowyerSubject: Java extension functiosn not found
Author: Peta Bowyer

hi

Stylus Studio isn't finding my Java extension functions. They work just fine when I transform outside of Stylus Studio, so I know that they and the xsl are correct. I guess I need to set up something else in Stylus Studio, but I can't see what. Please can you help?

I get the following when I transform my xsl:

Exception calling Java extension:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: http://alphane
at com.exln.stylus.CXClassLoader.findClass(CXClassLoader.java:192)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)

In the XSLT Mapper, if click Java functions on the popup menu, my registered class files are listed but not the functions themselves within those class files.

In the XSL Editor, I am offered my own namespace in the popup, but I don't see any of my functions.

I have added the path containing my classes to the Java Virtual Machine classpath and the compiler classpath and external JVM classpath (altho I don't have an external JVM specified). I've restarted Stylus Studio every time I've changed the classpath.

I have registered my Java extension classes in the XSL Mapper.

Each of my class files contains multiple functions.

Many thanks
Peta

Hi Peta,

Which processor do you use from the command line?

The built-in xslt processor recognized a subset of function prototypes

If you select Xalan-J inside Stylus does it work?

Hope this helps

The Stylus Studio internal processor has a few restrictions in terms of
what Java extension functions it's able to process; you can find more
details at:
http://www.developxml.com/d_xslt37.html#wp251795

If you modify your function's signatures (or create wrapper functions with
a recognized signature) your problem should be fixed.

Thanks,
Minollo
