Eric SeifertSubject: Bugs

I have encountered a few bugs while using the latest 5.3 version.
Here are the ones I have encountered using the mapper:
-When I draw a control line to an element that already contains a control link the app crashes
-I had created 2 xslt documents earlier today, got home and reopened those documents and my source and target documents are no longer what they were set up to be. The target document has become a dynamic document node and the source document is the test xml document I was using for the scenario to test the transformation. This one is a big problem since it's extremely difficult to continue working on the transformation documents.
-I was trying to figure out how to do something earlier so I added and removed some control blocks and the transformation document got messed up since the elements I drew lines from to the control blocks were being repeated in the transformation document but not removed.

Hopefully these can be addressed and fixed soon. Thanks.
Eric

We can see this problem and the fix will be available in our next public
update.

Of course this is not mapper designed to be. we recently fixed a problem
simmilar to this. But it only happened when you switch to the param tab
from mapper and switch back. Other than simply saving, closing and
opening, did you perform other operation in between?

Can you try the same step again and see if it keep happening? I'm
wondering if this is a reproducible behavior on your machine.

I'm trying to understand what you described here. Are you saying the
target element get repeated or the control element(for-each, if..)get
repeated? Can you give us more details on this?

Also, can you tell us what the version are you using by choose
help/about menu.

Thanks for using Stylus Studio.

Thanks for the response.

I found that issue 2 occurs when the files are part of a project. I have since removed the files from the project and everything is good. I also found in the project file there were 2 source document nodes with 2 different references. One was the xsd document I had selected as the source, the other was the xml document I was using for the test scenario.

For the last issue, it was the target elements that were being repeated. I don't know how to reproduce that problem. I have since done similar things and have yet to see it happen again. It may have been the order in which I added and removed the control blocks but I'm not sure.

Also, one more minor problem I forgot to mention. When I select an or conditional block the mapper sets it up as an and instead of an or. That's just a minor thing though since I can just go to the source and change it.

I know the tool is not mapper centric, but it is a nice feature to use since it saves a lot of time typing. I just use it to get a good start going then switch to the source when the document starts becoming more complex.

Thank you for the help,
Eric
