Tomasz WorekSubject: A few questions about Integration Workbench from newbie
Author: Tomasz Worek

Hello

I have downloaded, installed and launched evaluation version of Integration Workbench (with Stylus Studio Integration Edition 5.5). I have viewed and analyzed (superficially) all samples (in Stylus Studio, Orchestration Server, XML Server and ESB) but i'm not sure about few things.

1. I can't find DB-to-XML option anywhere. When i'm choosing File -> New... i can't see this kind of file. Where can i find it?

2. Is there a possibility to use DB-to-XML to connect from XML Server to MySQL or PostgreSQL (and execute queries like SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, INSERT)?

3. Is there a possibility to use Integration Workbench as a framework for developing web application with document workflow (like Supply Chain Sample but with all functions included in Integration Workbench and user interaction via web browser)? I don't require connecting to other applications, i want to make whole application in Stylus Studio and launch it using ESB, Orchestration Server and XML Server. If answer is "yes" where should i search for tutorials and help? Where should i start learning?

Thanks forward for Your help!

DB-to-XML feature is not part of Stylus Studio Integration Workbench
If you like to try it you can download Stylus Studio standalone from
http://www.stylusstudio.com

DB to XML is designed to access relation databases. XML Server is an XML
database so you don't need an intermediate layer.

You can read more here

Take a look to the online documentations and whitepapers you may find
some answers

Thanks for quick reply.

I'm not sure You know what i mean in my last question (well, i haven't explained it very clearly).

I'm searching for tool with features similar to (for example) Lotus Notes. Is there possiblity to build my own application like Worklist or Process Search applications (with my own layout, menu forms etc.). I want to build it using only Integration Workbench and launch it using Integration Workbench. I haven't found in documentation any example how to build something like that (maybe i overlook something?).

Is this possible (and is it make sense) to use Sonic Integration Workbench in this way?

Hi Tomasz,

This is the Stylus Studio standalone forum you would have better luck
asking questions on Workbench to the sonic support
http://www.sonicsoftware.com/support

Thank You
