Christian JacobSubject: How can I configure which processor to use?
Author: Christian Jacob
Date: 30 Oct 2002 02:45 AM
When I wanted to start a transformation, I received an error message that the Xalan Processor could not be found at a certain place. I had had the Xalan processor at that place some weeks ago, but in the meantime I have moved it to another place. Can someone tell me how to configure Stylus Studio where it can find it's processor?

Christian,
Stylus 4.5 ships with XalanJ and Saxon, you don't need to do any
additional configuration.
You do need the Sun JVM installed your system.
To verify if your system has JVM installed go under Tools -> Options ->
Application Settings -> Java Virtual Machine and click "auto detect"

If could post the exact error message we could help you more

Hi Ivan,

The original German message is

D:\XML\xalan-j_2_3_1\bin\xalan.jar
Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden

That means translated: the system can't find the mentioned file. The file is one where I had installed the xalan several weeks ago.

Regards,
Christian

Christian,

This message is generated by stylus when it try to convert long path to
short.
You must have the classpath still pointing to
D:\XML\xalan-j_2_3_1\bin\xalan.jar
Check the system CLASSPATH and under Tools -> Options -> Application
Settings -> Java Virtual Machine -> ClassPath

This error should not prevent the "embedded" XalanJ to run

To use XalanJ just go the scenario dialog and (click the toolbar button
with "...") choose XalanJ in the processor's tab

What Stylus Version are you running (Help -> About) ?

Ivan
