Lee HumphriesSubject: Feature Request: Tweak to Indenting function
Author: Lee Humphries
Date: 18 Jul 2002 07:17 PM
I've been trying the Indent XML tags function on some of our XML documents and there's one thing it does which just detracts from its usefulness and that is the way it inserts line breaks within empty element tag pairs.

e.g. If I have two elements like this:
<Elem1>Something</Elem1><Elem2></Elem2>
They will get formatted like this:
<Elem1>Something</Elem1>
<Elem2>
</Elem2>

This can render the document invalid if Elem2 is 'empty'

Can the Indent behaviour be changed to leave empty element tags together?

The next update of Stylus will include this fix.

Thanks for the report,

Alberto
